Health Policy Research and Evaluation

We aim to inform policymakers at the federal, state and local levels of the actual and potential effects health care policies and programs have on health insurance coverage, access to care, health care quality and health outcomes.

We utilize the following state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary methods to conduct our research:

  • Health economics
  • Decision analysis
  • Biostatistics
  • Psychology
  • Survey research

Students in the Health Care Policy and Research Ph.D. program assist faculty with these research projects, gaining practical experience in informing evidence-based health policy to go along with their rigorous training in health policy research methods.
