Seven VCU faculty members were selected to participate in the summer cohort of the Faculty Success Program from the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity. The Faculty Success Program helps faculty members learn the secrets to increasing research productivity, getting control of their time, and living a full and healthy life beyond their campus.

In addition to the Faculty Success Program, the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity offers webinars, writing challenges, discussion forums, and additional resources for faculty members to access online. VCU faculty members can sign up for a free Institutional Membership to participate in the online trainings and resources by visiting facultydiversity.org/join.

Dina T. Garcia, Ph.D.

Assistant professor, Department of Health Behavior and Policy, School of Medicine

“Within the past seven months several changes occurred in my life, including moving from the Midwest to Richmond, beginning a new job as a tenure-track assistant professor, and rescuing two adorable dogs. The FSP presents an opportunity to reflect on these transitions and to strategically plan for the future. I look forward to learning new strategies that can help me achieve work life integration as I settle into this new phase in my life.”
